We are looking for a Research Scientist to join our team and contribute to research and experimental work in microbiology, biotechnology, and plant biology. We value initiative, the ability to independently plan and carry out experiments, and a genuine interest in developing innovative scientific solutions.
Your responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and carry out microbiological and biotechnological research.
Cultivate microorganisms, maintain pure cultures, prepare growth media, and conduct laboratory fermentation experiments.
Perform morphological analysis of microorganisms and cells using microscopy methods.
Assess the metabolic activity of microorganisms using biochemical analysis methods.
Work with analytical laboratory equipment, take measurements, analyze and interpret results, and ensure equipment maintenance, calibration, and measurement quality.
Design experiments, analyze data, and apply statistical methods to interpret results.
Prepare research protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), scientific and technical reports, and ensure the quality of laboratory documentation.
Review scientific literature and contribute to the development of new research directions.
When needed, carry out plant inoculation experiments and work with plants in vitro and/or in vivo.
We expect that you:
Hold a university degree in molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, biotechnology, plant biology, biochemistry, or a related life sciences field.
Have practical work experience in a microbiology laboratory.
Can independently plan and carry out experiments and analyze their results.
Have experience working with analytical laboratory equipment and can interpret the resulting data.
Are able to prepare laboratory documentation, research protocols, and technical reports.
Are responsible, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Have strong English language skills, both written and spoken.
Nice to have:
Experience with molecular biology methods: genomic DNA extraction, nucleic acid quality assessment, PCR, DNA sequencing, and genetic data analysis.
Experience working with spectrometric analysis methods.
Experience working with plants in vitro and/or in vivo, including plant inoculation experiments.
Experience analyzing genetic and phylogenetic data.
